Lofotr Viking Museum: Full day visit, from Svolvær, with Arctic Route

Meeting time and place: 08:00 (am) at Arctic Route bus stop in Svolvær Hurtigruten Terminal - Google Maps or 08:05 (am) outside at Svinvøya Rorbuer. - Google Map. Wave to the red Arctic Route bus with number 932.

National Scenic Route

Start your sightseeing day from Svolvær. Keep your eyes open during the sightseeing tour in the Arctic Route bus along one of the 18 National Scenic Routes.

Visit Lofotr Viking Museum (10:20-17:05)

Visit the impressive Chieftain's longhouse – the world’s biggest Viking Age longhouse, where you will learn about how Vikings used to live, but also workshops, such as wood carving, weaves, and cooking, among other activities. Try Viking axe-throwing, archery, and, for the little ones, riding Nordland horses in a ring. You will find many other activities at this place, during the summertime in Lofoten, such as rowing a boat and throwing axes.

Free time

You have 6,5 hours at the Lofotr Museum. In the nearby area, you find a couple of easy hikes towards the hile of Jomannen, or go hiking in the forest, along the Disco frisbeegolfbane. The bus departs from public bus stop at the main route (not at the museum parking) at 17:05 - be on time - Google Maps.

Visit Henningsvær Village (18:05-19:05)

End your tour in Lofoten with a visit to Henningsvær, where you can explore (self-guided) the cosy fishing village. Hop in one of many handcraft shops, such as candle makers, glass blowing, knitting textiles, local food stores, and so much more. After your visit, hop back on the bus, driving on the Lofotens National Scenic Route, back to Svolvær (19:35).
