A Tromsø fjord boat trip

Cruise on Tromsø fjord on board an authentic wooden boat and admire the Arctic landscape. This boat trip takes you around Tromsø Island to unique photography spots so you can take in the best views of Tromsø fjord and the surrounding mountains. Keep an eye out for local wildlife (such as eagles and seals) as we pass different islands (Kvaløya, Grindøya and Håkøya).

This fjord excursion is full of beautiful attractions: relax on the comfortable boat while our guides tell you more about the Tromsø landmarks that we will see on our way. This boat trip is highly recommended for tourists and local alike to discover Tromsø from a different perspective. Families are also welcome! Children usually have lots of fun following the course of the boat on the skipper’s screens, observing where other boats are and trying to see if there are any fish nearby.

A tour on an historical boat

You travel on board Hermes II, a maritime beauty which has grown to fit perfectly into the Tromsø scenery. Our knowledgeable crew will share the fascinating history of the boat. Built in 1917, she was originally a cargo boat for fish, coal, animals and building materials. From 2016 to 2019, Hermes II was completely restored, a preservation project that was rewarded in 2021 with the Tromsø Culture Community Award.

You will have plenty of time to explore the vessel. Whether you are passionate about old boats or not, you will love the experience! Walk around the deck or go below and explore the beautiful interior (wooden berths, authentic helm and a cosy heated lounge).
