An Aurora Borealis tour to a private camp
We have developed a unique tour for you to experience the Aurora Borealis. We meet at our check-in Desk at 18.15 and drive you in a spacious and comfortable bus to one of our private camps around the Tromsø region. We check the weather forecast before departure and contact our camp hosts, looking for the spot with the best chances of clear sky and, therefore, better chances of seeing the beautiful Northern Lights. On the way, our guides will tell you about the area and what to expect. They will also show you a video explaining this natural and impressive phenomenon.
A comfortable Northern Lights experience
Our Aurora Camp tour is the best option to watch the Northern Lights in a comfortable way. Waiting for the Aurora Borealis to appear in the cold Arctic winter can be challenging so we have made the experience more enjoyable for you! At the Aurora Camp, you will find a warm shelter (depending on the camp: a small house, a wooden grill hut, a barn, an authentic mountain station, or even a Sami tent) with toilet facilities as well as thermal winter suits.
Each Aurora Camp is unique and offers a different panorama (seaside, fjord or mountain views). Our local hosts will welcome you warmly and share personal stories to ensure a cosy and unforgettable experience. They will also serve you a hot meal (soup or stew)*, hot drinks and a delicious locally produced Norwegian sweet snack.
We take Northern Lights photos for you
Our trained and skilled guides will take winter and/or Northern Lights portraits of you and landscapes pictures so you keep these precious memories with you. If you wish to use your own camera, they will lend you tripods and show you how to take photos of the Northern Lights. Pictures, ideal for Social Media channels, are included in your ticket. High-resolution versions are for sale shortly after the tour.
We offer student discounts and youth rates. Owing to comfort and safety, children under four and people with disabilities are unable to join this tour.
* Depending on the camp, the locally made dinner is either fish or meat. A vegetarian alternative is available on request. Unfortunately, we are not yet able to cater for special dietary requests like lactose or gluten intolerance.
